Our services also include domain renewal in Nepal, DNS management, domain transfer, and domain portfolio management, helping you avoid common issues such as expired domains, incorrect DNS records, and loss of access to your domain. Whether you are starting a new business in Nepal, launching a website, or managing multiple domains, Webtech Nepal provides dependable domain registration and management support to keep your online presence secure and accessible.

Fields of Expertise

We provide comprehensive domain registration and management services that protect Nepali businesses’ online identity, ensure continuous availability, and maintain the DNS accuracy that every dependent service relies on.

Domain Name Registration

Registration of new domain names across all major generic TLDs (.com, .net, .org, .io, .co) and country-code TLDs including .com.np and .np for Nepali businesses — through reputable international registrars including Namecheap, Google Domains, Cloudflare Registrar, and GoDaddy. We register domains with the account ownership in your name and under your control, ensuring you retain full access and authority over your domain from day one rather than depending on a third party to release it to you when the relationship changes.

Domain Name Strategy & Selection Advisory

Expert guidance on choosing a domain name that strengthens rather than weakens your brand — evaluating memorability, spelling clarity, length, keyword inclusion trade-offs, TLD credibility signals for your target audience, and the availability of matching social media handles and business name registrations. We assess whether your ideal domain is available, what alternatives exist if it is taken, and whether purchasing a premium or previously-registered domain is worth the investment given your specific business context and long-term digital strategy.

Domain Renewal Management

Proactive management of domain renewal schedules across your full portfolio — tracking expiration dates for every domain you own, sending advance renewal reminders at 90, 60, and 30 days before expiry, processing renewals well ahead of the deadline, and confirming successful renewal with documentation. Domain expiry is one of the most easily preventable business crises; it consistently happens to organisations that relied on a single renewal reminder email that went to spam, or a credit card that expired before the domain did, or an agency that managed renewals without adequate backup processes.

Brand Protection & Multi-TLD Registration

Strategic registration of your brand name across multiple TLD extensions — securing .com, .net, .org, .co, .io, and relevant country-code variants of your primary domain to prevent competitors, cybersquatters, and opportunistic registrants from acquiring confusingly similar addresses that divert your traffic, undermine your brand, or are used for phishing attacks against your customers. For established Nepali businesses with recognised brand names, defensive domain registration is a low-cost insurance policy against brand abuse that becomes exponentially more expensive to resolve after the fact than to prevent through proactive registration.

DNS Record Management

Professional management of all DNS records for your domain portfolio — A records for website IP mapping, CNAME records for subdomains and service aliases, MX records for email routing, TXT records for domain verification and SPF/DKIM/DMARC email authentication, NS records for nameserver delegation, and SRV records for application-specific services. DNS errors are among the most common causes of website outages, email delivery failures, and service disruptions; we manage DNS with precision and maintain a clear record of all changes made and their purposes for auditability and troubleshooting.

Email Authentication DNS Setup

Implementation of the complete email authentication DNS record set — SPF (Sender Policy Framework) to specify which mail servers are authorised to send email from your domain, DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) to cryptographically sign outgoing messages, and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) to define how receiving servers handle messages that fail authentication. Correct email authentication is now essential for reliable inbox delivery; Google and Microsoft reject or heavily filter email from domains without proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, making this configuration directly relevant to your sales and customer communication effectiveness.

Domain Transfers & Registrar Migration

Management of domain transfers between registrars — whether you are consolidating a scattered domain portfolio to a single registrar for simpler management, moving from a registrar with poor support or security practices to one with better service, or reclaiming control of a domain currently held in an agency or developer's account rather than your own. We handle the technical transfer process, manage the authorisation code request and WHOIS unlock procedure, monitor transfer progress, and verify successful completion — including the DNS configuration on the new registrar to ensure no service interruption during the transition.

WHOIS Privacy & Registrant Data Protection

Configuration of WHOIS privacy protection to mask your personal or business contact information from the publicly accessible WHOIS database — replacing your name, address, email, and phone number with registrar proxy details that prevent domain-related spam, unsolicited acquisition offers, and personal data harvesting by scrapers while maintaining your legal ownership and full control of the domain. WHOIS privacy is available for most generic TLDs at low or no additional cost through reputable registrars and is a straightforward privacy measure that every domain owner should have active.

Domain Security & Transfer Lock Management

Implementation and verification of domain security measures — enabling registrar-level transfer locks that prevent unauthorised transfers of your domain to another registrar, configuring registrar-level two-factor authentication for account access, verifying that WHOIS contact details are current so renewal and security notifications reach the right person, and implementing registry lock for high-value domains where additional protection against both external attacks and internal account compromise is warranted. Domain hijacking causes immediate and complete loss of website and email availability; these measures make it significantly harder for attackers to execute successfully.

Domain Portfolio Management

Consolidated management of multi-domain portfolios — maintaining a complete inventory of all domains your organisation owns, their registrars, expiry dates, DNS configurations, and current use status, identifying domains that are no longer needed and can be allowed to lapse or sold, and providing a single point of contact for all domain management activities across a complex portfolio. For businesses that have accumulated domains over years through acquisitions, rebrandings, and product launches, portfolio consolidation and rationalisation reduces management complexity and eliminates the renewal costs of domains that serve no current business purpose.

Premium & Aftermarket Domain Acquisition

Assistance with acquiring premium or previously-registered domains that are not currently available for standard registration — including evaluation of whether a premium domain's market price is justifiable given your business objectives, negotiation approach for privately-held domains through outreach to current registrants, and participation in domain marketplace platforms including Sedo, Afternic, and GoDaddy Auctions. For businesses where the ideal domain name is already registered, we provide objective advice on whether to pursue acquisition, accept an alternative, or negotiate a licensing arrangement rather than an outright purchase.

Domain & DNS Audit Reporting

Periodic audits of your complete domain portfolio and DNS configuration — verifying that all DNS records are accurate and current, that no expired or orphaned DNS entries point to decommissioned services, that email authentication records are correctly configured and passing validation, that domain registrations are current with accurate WHOIS contact information, and that security measures including transfer locks and two-factor authentication are active. DNS and domain configurations frequently drift from their intended state as services change and team members turn over; regular audits catch these drifts before they cause outages or security exposures.

Our Process

Domain Requirements Discovery & Name Strategy

Domain Requirements Discovery & Name Strategy

We begin by understanding your business, brand positioning, target audience, and geographic market to develop a domain name strategy — identifying your ideal domain name, evaluating its availability across TLDs, assessing how the available options compare on memorability, spelling clarity, brand fit, and SEO considerations, and advising on which extensions to register defensively alongside your primary domain. For businesses where the preferred domain is already taken, we research current ownership and registration status to determine whether it is actively used, parked, or potentially available for acquisition before recommending alternatives.

Registrar Selection & Account Setup

We recommend the appropriate registrar for your domains based on the TLDs you need, pricing transparency, security features (two-factor authentication, transfer lock, registry lock availability), DNS management interface quality, support responsiveness, and payment options. Critically, registrar accounts are created in your business name with your contact details and payment method — ensuring you are the registrant of record and retain full independent access to your domains regardless of any future change in your relationship with us or with any other agency that has previously managed your domains. Domain ownership must rest with you, not with any service provider.

Domain Registration & Security Configuration

We register your selected domains and immediately apply security configuration — enabling transfer lock to prevent unauthorised registrar transfers, activating WHOIS privacy protection to mask registrant contact information from the public database, verifying that registrant contact email and phone details are accurate and actively monitored, and enabling two-factor authentication on the registrar account. These security steps are applied at registration time rather than retrospectively because domains are most vulnerable to hijacking attempts in the period immediately following registration when security measures may not yet be established.

DNS Configuration & Service Pointing

We configure the DNS records required to point your domain to the services that depend on it — setting the A and CNAME records that direct website traffic to your hosting server, MX records that route email to your email hosting provider, TXT records for domain ownership verification with Google Search Console, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other services, and SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for email authentication. All DNS records are documented with their purpose, target, and TTL value so the configuration is fully auditable and any future team member or provider can understand and maintain it without requiring specialist knowledge of what was configured and why at the time of original setup.

Portfolio Inventory & Renewal Schedule Establishment

We create a complete domain portfolio inventory documenting every domain your organisation owns — registrar, registration date, expiry date, current DNS configuration, services depending on it, and business purpose — and establish a renewal monitoring schedule with automated reminders at 90, 60, and 30 days before each expiry date. For organisations taking over domain management from a previous provider or inheriting a portfolio assembled without structured management, we first audit all domains across all registrars to ensure nothing has been missed before establishing the ongoing renewal regime on a complete and accurate inventory.

Ongoing DNS Management & Change Handling

We handle all DNS change requests — subdomain additions, MX record updates when changing email providers, TXT record additions for new service verifications, A record updates following server migrations, and any other DNS modifications required as your services and infrastructure evolve — with same-business-day implementation for routine changes and documented change records that maintain the accuracy of your domain configuration inventory. DNS changes propagate globally within minutes to hours depending on TTL values, and we verify propagation completion and service functionality after every significant DNS change rather than assuming successful propagation without validation.

Renewal Execution, Audit & Annual Portfolio Review

We execute domain renewals proactively — renewing domains at least 30 days before expiry rather than waiting until the final days, confirming renewal success with documentation, and delivering a renewal confirmation report for your records. Annual domain portfolio reviews assess the current state of every domain you own: confirming all are renewed and appropriately secured, evaluating whether any domains registered for projects or products that no longer exist can be allowed to lapse or sold, identifying any new domains that should be registered for brand protection or new initiatives, and reviewing DNS configurations for accuracy and completeness against the services currently depending on them. Domain portfolios require deliberate annual governance to remain a coherent, cost-effective asset rather than an accumulation of forgotten registrations.

I had a great experience working with Webtech Nepal for developing the news portal for Review Nepal. They delivered a clean, modern, and fully functional news website that meets all our requirements. One of the most impressive parts of the project was their ability to successfully migrate and import around 13,000 old news articles from the previous system without data loss or major issues. That level of technical execution shows real expertise in handling large-scale content systems. The team was responsive, professional, and detail-oriented throughout the development process. Domain Registration in Nepal for Your Business

Domain prices in Nepal typically range from NPR 2,000 to NPR 3,000 per year depending on the extension (.com, .org, .net), plus any management or setup fees if using a managed service. .com.np domains may be available for free through Mercantile Communications for eligible Nepali individuals and businesses.

A .com is the most globally recognized option and works well if you plan to reach customers outside Nepal or want maximum brand credibility. A .com.np or .np domain signals a local Nepali presence and can help with local search relevance, and .com.np is often available at low or no cost for eligible Nepali entities. Many businesses register both and point the .com.np to their main .com site.

This is a common and fixable problem. We help clients recover control of domains held in a former developer’s or agency’s registrar account by requesting an authorization/transfer code, verifying ownership documentation, and completing a registrar transfer into an account fully controlled by you. Once transferred, we also apply security settings (transfer lock, 2FA, updated WHOIS contacts) to prevent it from happening again.

Most registrars offer a short grace period after expiry, but after that the domain can be released and become available for anyone — including opportunistic buyers — to register. This can mean permanent loss of your website and business email addresses. We manage renewal schedules proactively with reminders at 90, 60, and 30 days before expiry specifically to prevent this.

DNS (Domain Name System) is what connects your domain name to the actual services it powers — your website, your email, and any subdomains or third-party tools. Misconfigured DNS records are one of the most common causes of website downtime and email delivery failures. We configure and maintain DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, SPF/DKIM/DMARC) to keep everything resolving correctly.
